From March 29th to 31st, ProM Facility will be heading to Bologna to participate in the 2023 edition of MECSPE in a new guise compared to previous years. In addition to exhibiting some of the industrial applications of 3D printing made in the lab at stand A64 (pavilion 21 of BolognaFiere), the Facility is also involved in the management of the Start Up Factory, the pavilion dedicated to extremely high-tech B2B start-ups.
Scheduled events include a Coffee & Pitch “Design 4.0: Software and Hardware Simulation for Lean Prototyping” and Talk2 “Design 4.0: the Great Transformation”, at which Paolo Gregori Director of Prototyping Mechatronics Facility of Rovereto, will speak.
The participation of ProM Facility at MECSPE
For the technologists of the mechatronic prototyping center, the presence of the Facility at MECSPE is strategic: the trade fair, now in its 21st edition, is the international benchmark for the manufacturing industry and therefore an important opportunity for increasing the visibility of the innovative services offered by the Facility and for networking.
This year’s program focuses on 3 key themes for Industry 4.0: training, digitization and sustainability. Visitors and exhibitors at the event will be able to get to know stakeholders and learn about key technological innovations in the field of industrial processes, both in the exhibition and demonstration areas.
The involvement in the Start Up Factory
Now in its 3rd edition, the Start Up Factory at MECSPE is an area of the trade fair set up to promote dialogue between start-ups and small, medium and large businesses, interested in strengthening their competitive position through innovation and high specialization. ProM Facility is involved in promoting the start-up area, working with Industrio Ventures, the hardware start-up accelerator, and organizers of the trade fair.
By offering an extensive program of events, the initiative offers B2B startups the opportunity to introduce themselves to a wide audience. The program includes Industrio Coffee & Pitch in the morning and Industrio Talk2 in the afternoon of the three days.
“ProM Facility is a mechatronic prototype and product development center supporting start-ups and SMEs. We work in the area of smart manufacturing and Industry 4.0, positioning ourselves as a sort of “industrial fablab” that provides technologies and expertise in additive manufacturing, electronics integration and artificial intelligence. For us as a prototype center, it is essential to come into contact with the world of innovative startups, all the more so given the synergy with Industrio and the organizers of MECSPE, a trade fair at which we have been participating since our launch in 2017,” Paolo Gregori, the director of ProM, explains. “With companies, we embark on a journey of support for product development and the use of innovative technologies, focused on the specific industrial sector. We, at ProM, also offer hands-on training courses to company staff, students, researchers and PHD students.”
ProM Facility discusses “Design 4.0”
On Friday 31 March, the director of the prototyping center will participate with Future Speech at the Industrio Coffee & Pitch with the title “Design 4.0: Software and Hardware Simulation for Lean Prototyping” and as speaker at the Industrio Talk2 in the afternoon “Design 4.0: the Great Transformation”.
“To both panels,” adds Gregori “I will bring our experience in the field gained during the past few years developing prototypes, concentrating in particular on the activities of design and construction of innovative products fabricated according to the specific requirements of the companies we work with, while respecting confidentiality, which we often have to ensure when dealing with confidential information.”
